Chapter 2 - Incomplete

"Lilith, can you fetch me the milk?"

A seven year old Lily stood in the middle of what looked like an expensive kitchen, she had two ponytails in her hair and a red dress on with shining black shoes.  The person that spoke was a silhouette of a woman with curly hair, the woman was making something on the stove.

"Okay Mama!" Lily cried, excitedly.

She practically skipped to the refrigerator grinning from ear to ear.  Opening the fridge took both of her hands and her face turned into despair as she saw the milk was on the first tray.  Not letting that stop her, she gave a quick glance at the shadow woman and jumped inside.

She climbed the trays with no problem though she had gotten bits of food on her dress but it didn't matter, she reached the gallon of milk.  Reaching out, she made a grunting noise before her hand finally grasped the handle.

"Yay!"

"Lilith!" screamed the shadow.

Lily suddenly jumped at the sound of the voice and slipped off with the milk tightly held to her as she tried to grab onto something with one hand.

"Lily?  Wake up, it's dinner time."

Lily opened her eyes slowly to see the guard, Jordan, in her room gently shaking her.  He had a platter of something but it was too dark to see.  Slowly, she sat up and rubbed her eyes, yawning.

"What is it?" her voice delicate as she let her brain catch up to her body.

"It's almost dinner time, you should hurry to the mess hall."

"Okay."

She hadn't noticed when she fell asleep but her body didn't miss a beat as it got her out of bed and out the room.  As she reached the mess hall, her brain finally caught up and she was wide awake to the smell of food.

Mess hall was just as the name stated.

Tons of tables and chairs, food were thrown on the floor and walls; she wasn't going to look up at the ceiling.  The room was filled with patients with white gowns only.  There were three color gowns; white, blue and green.

White gowns were for the behaved patient, they were allowed outside within the gates on nice days and almost access to everything and allowed visitors; Lily is one.  White gowns are earned, took Lily eight years to get a white gown, she was originally a blue gown.

Blue gowns are for the mentally sick patients who are suicidal or so, needing constant watching and a lot drugs.  They aren't allowed outside unless guards are watching them and they have no free time, their schedule is tightly packed.  They aren't allowed visitors and have many psychiatric sessions.  Though blue gowns don't need guards for events such as dinner or wreck room.

Green gowns were the worst.  Patients who were violent, they almost had no rights.  Not allowed outside or any visitor, when leaving their room they are heavily drugged.  A lot of times, they were the ones sent to the padded room with the jackets.  They were always guarded and weren't allowed near other patients, for reasons that were said when the bed patient came in.
